Iranian cleric highlighted the high status of women in Islam in the conference held in the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Iranian cleric highlighted the high status of women in Islam in the conference held in the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia.

Hojjat-ol-Islam Seyyed Ali Ghazi Askar, Iran's deputy of the Supreme Leader in Hajj, attended the conference "Status of Woman and the Family" called clarification of the high status of family in view of Islam as the most important mission of the time.

He referred to the paved ways for development of women and said, "The first arena is for spiritual and moral development of women because God Almighty has provided the ground for growth of women to the most level possible for which Hazrat Fatima Zahra (AS) is a clear example."

"This shows that the ground for development for women is not less than those of men," said the cleric, referring to society as the second arena for development of women and stressed that there is no limitation for scientific and cultural growth of women.

He rejected the misunderstanding that women are merely servants and said in Islamic view, women are the most important pillar of the family.

Deputy of the Supreme Leader in Hajj affairs underscored the present duty of women as clarification of their true Islamic status for the world and said," the point has to be given its due attention that women can reach full perfection in spiritual, moral and social aspects combating platitude.

Hojjat-ol-Islam Ghazi Askar said passing the bills at parliament in Iran must be in a way that a correct picture of Muslim women is provided for the world.

He referred to the Islamic tendency of women in western and non -Muslim countries and hailed the role of women in Islamic Awakening.
